Something I liked about this book is the illustration style and colors。 I also liked the humor, but it is very childish and most people might probably not enjoy it that much。So I will just say what I did not like as much was the amount of poop jokes in it。The genre of this book is Children's literature。 Something I liked about this book is the illustration style and colors。 I also liked the humor, but it is very childish and most people might probably not enjoy it that much。So I will just say what I did not like as much was the amount of poop jokes in it。The genre of this book is Children's literature。 。。。more

Melvin Sneedley is gifted, talented and obnoxious。 So, when his classmates George Beard and Harold Hutchins fail to be impressed by the demonstration of his Combine-O-Tron 2000 by which he has turned his pet hamster Sulu and a toy robot into a super-bionic rodent that won’t obey Melvin’s commands, Melvin plots revenge。 Alas, in his rage he experiments on himself and, with an unfortunate sneeze, accidentally turns himself into the Bionic Booger Boy, a great slimy green gob of snot that would make Melvin Sneedley is gifted, talented and obnoxious。 So, when his classmates George Beard and Harold Hutchins fail to be impressed by the demonstration of his Combine-O-Tron 2000 by which he has turned his pet hamster Sulu and a toy robot into a super-bionic rodent that won’t obey Melvin’s commands, Melvin plots revenge。 Alas, in his rage he experiments on himself and, with an unfortunate sneeze, accidentally turns himself into the Bionic Booger Boy, a great slimy green gob of snot that would make Bruce Banner lose his appetite for lunch and the Jolly Green Giant exclaim, “Nothing like this ever happened on my side of the family。" 。。。more

While some can argue that the Captain Underpants series should've been banned from schools, I for one wholeheartedly agree with parents who found these books disgusting。 And the sixth novel in the series is utterly disgusting for multiple reasons。 Being part 1 of a two part story, George and Harold are now facing tattletale Melvin Sneedly, who unwittingly becomes a monstrous booger boy after an experiment gone wrong turns him into their most disgusting foe yet。 Now its up to Captain Underpants a While some can argue that the Captain Underpants series should've been banned from schools, I for one wholeheartedly agree with parents who found these books disgusting。 And the sixth novel in the series is utterly disgusting for multiple reasons。 Being part 1 of a two part story, George and Harold are now facing tattletale Melvin Sneedly, who unwittingly becomes a monstrous booger boy after an experiment gone wrong turns him into their most disgusting foe yet。 Now its up to Captain Underpants and our heroes to save the world from becoming a disgusting wasteland。 Can they save the world from becoming boogified? Or will they be lunch? What I liked about this installment is that the villain is Melvin Sneedly, who was a minor character in prior books。 His rage towards George and Harold takes a massive turn when it is shown that he is wanting to become more popular and it instantly backfires on him。 Then we have the usual Captain Underpants formula you can expect。 Flip-O-Rama, the snapping, the water on head, and so on and so forth。 Another thing that was interesting is that the sixth novel is actually not only Part 1 of the two part Booger Boy storyline, but it is actually the first in the series that is said to be part of a bigger story that is carried on through the remainder of the books。 And of course there are some flaws in this book as well。 But the only flaw is that when we get to the second half of the book, and Melvin is the Bionic Booger monster, he is extremely disgusting and I felt that it was carried on for far too long。 If you find yourself disgusted with this particular book, I would strongly advise against showing it to your kids。 But if they have a strong stomach, go right ahead and give them something to laugh at while reading。 。。。more

Again, this series gradually just steps up the bonkers plot, the humor, and the self-awareness breaking the fourth wall。 Teacher's pet Melvin tries to combine himself with a robot, but he is coming down with a cold accidently combining himself with his own boogers。 This story was fun to read with the big (sometimes made up) words and long, alliteration sentences。 The conflict wraps up, but sets up the next book (part 2) with a cliffhanger。 Again, this series gradually just steps up the bonkers plot, the humor, and the self-awareness breaking the fourth wall。 Teacher's pet Melvin tries to combine himself with a robot, but he is coming down with a cold accidently combining himself with his own boogers。 This story was fun to read with the big (sometimes made up) words and long, alliteration sentences。 The conflict wraps up, but sets up the next book (part 2) with a cliffhanger。 。。。more

I officially had to create a gross tag for this one。 Oh geeze it's pretty gross for an old gal。 My son loved how squeamish it made me。 I'm interested to see more of Melvin and see how he comes out of this。 In the Dog Man books the villains often end up becoming reformed good guys。 I'm sort of hoping that doesn't happen here。 I hope Melvin stays snotty, ahem, pun intended。 I officially had to create a gross tag for this one。 Oh geeze it's pretty gross for an old gal。 My son loved how squeamish it made me。 I'm interested to see more of Melvin and see how he comes out of this。 In the Dog Man books the villains often end up becoming reformed good guys。 I'm sort of hoping that doesn't happen here。 I hope Melvin stays snotty, ahem, pun intended。 。。。more

Interestingly, this one has a whole bunch of plays on pop culture references that no kid in the target age range is ever going to pick up。 Was the author doing that just because he thought it was funny? Or is that for the parents reading it to their kids? And yet the grossness of the overall plotline is very clearly aimed at kids young enough to find it funny。 The "monster" is an amalgamation of an annoying kid, his boogers and a robot。 Yes, you read that correctly。 This is also the first book in Interestingly, this one has a whole bunch of plays on pop culture references that no kid in the target age range is ever going to pick up。 Was the author doing that just because he thought it was funny?
